Title: Blueberry Cobbler
Location: Sew What? Quilt Shop
Date: 2009-02-28
Start Time: 10:00
End Time: 3:00
Instructor: Linda Davis
Cost: $30.00

Blueberry CobblerDo you have a favorite color?  Here is an opportunity for you to work with all the values of your favorite color, Peach? Strawberry? Lime? Blackberry? Grape? You choose as you work with light, medium and dark values of your favorite fruit color. And you do not have to use all three values, just one color and at least two different values (mostly medium and dark) of the chosen color.  Don’t worry if your blues (or chosen color) don’t match. Remember all blueberries do not match! Use fabrics from your scrap bin, from your stash and yardage from your fabric store and basic construction techniques to make a quilt that looks much more difficult than it is.

Start Time: 10:00
End Time: 3:00
Instructor: Joanne Witjes
End Time: $30.00

Magic MelonsI loved making this quilt and I think you will too.  It is a quilt-as-you-go, so you get to use up those batting leftovers.  I made 2 quilts with completely different types of fabrics, one scrap and one organized and both look great.  Love it.  We will explore the many things that can be done with this quilt including altering sizes of the blocks, feature fabrics and so much more.

Tossed GreensYo Yo’s add so much to a quilt, and they’re so fast and easy! The yo-yo’s are used in combination with fusible appliqué to give this project a “spring” theme, but with different fabric choices it could be summer or fall themed. Beginners welcome.

Date: 2009-03-10
Start Time: 10:00
End Time: 3:00
Instructor: Diana Brock
Cost: $30:00

Venetian TilesThis pattern is much simpler than it looks – it is actually made from simple 9-patch blocks that are cut with the X-Block ruler and then sewn together.  The cut-off pieces become the borders.  Try it with a scrappy look like the floral sample, or in a more controlled palette.  This is a great technique and you will be surprised at how simple it really is.
