Fall/Winter Class Schedule
Our fall classes are in full swing and we have some spots open in a few prime classes left.
Linda Davis shows us how make a Storm at Sea Quilt, typically a seemingly curved illusion by careful place of fabric by value and using a combination of triangles to create this perfect illusion. One of the secrets is it is all made of straight sided pieces!! Templates will be available for purchase, and this project is most successful when students already have some piecing experience. Join Linda on Monday, October 11, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for this amazing class.
Calling any quilter who has any blocks leftover from classes!! Anyone who has half a quilt, or started to assemble a quilt – partial rows or sets of blocks will do too! Do you have bits and pieces of fabric clogging your drawers and shelves, and those “exchange” blocks you just don’t know what to do with? These are your “orphans” and We WANT YOU – to take our Orphan Quilt Class. Cheryl Kagen will show you how to make a one-of-a-kind quilt using these tidbits and make them into a wonderful keepsake. ANYTHING from leftover strips sewn together, to partially finished blocks up to 36” square will work. But no batting please. This class begins on Saturday, October, 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sew What? Challenge Winners Announced!
Had you come in to vote for the challenge contest? We were thrilled to have 15 people respond with a finished project, several of whom were new quilters. The quilts will remain on display this month with identities revealed, so make sure you stop by in October to see who made your favorite. It was so much fun to see the different interpretations of the guidelines. The stories of the quilts were as wonderful as the quilts themselves. Another amazing aspect of this contest was the evenness of the voting. Since it was Viewers
Choice, and each quilter has a slightly different style, the public had a very hard time deciding between all the wonderful entries. Every entry had lots of votes and it was very close at the end.
The voting has finished and the winners were:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the voting and especially thank everyone who entered the contest!
