Out with the old…..in with the new

Happy New Year everyone!  As we bring in 2009, our staff is looking forward to an exciting new year.  Have you made your resolutions?  Do they include trying new techniques, taking classes, finishing projects and finding new and exciting ones?  We have so many new fabrics, patterns and books arriving, we hope you’ll stop by and see what’s come in.  Secret Jungle from Laurel Burch is here, new orientals, new batiks and many more.

Here at the shop, we also have goals that we hope in turn will help you grow in all your quilting endeavors.  Classes will be starting shortly. As always our teachers have worked hard to find classes that spark your interest. Maybe because of the pattern, maybe because of the fabrics, or maybe because you are interested in learning a new technique.  Whatever your reasons, we look forward to you joining us.  The upcoming class schedule will be out very shortly.  Watch for your copy.

Don’t forget, Sew What? is always available to you.  Individual lessons can be arranged or if you have something in mind that is not on are schedule, let us know.  We will work around your schedule and our classroom availability to meet your needs.

In 2009 we will be continuing our Girls Night.  If you are looking for an evening filled with fun and in meeting new friends, getting reacquainted with old friends, why not join us on January 30th?  Everyone is invited, no reservations are needed.  If you have any questions, give us a call, stop by the shop or send us a quick e-mail…..we look forward to seeing you.

What do “Kings” and quilting have in common?

In March 2009, NBC will have a new series on named “Kings”.  They contacted us looking for  a quilt that was predominately “orange”.  Our friend Pat Parucki took Kinetic Energy class from us, made it in oranges and browns and had it quilted by Ann.  We contacted Pat, she brought us  the quilt and the rest is history.

Pat’s quilt will be featured in an episode in the spring.  We will be getting the specific date that  it will air so we can all tune in to see a local quilters work on national television!

Congratulations Pat!
