The Dog Days of Summer…
Another Shop Hop has come and gone. It seems they were the hottest days of the summer! Thank Goodness for air conditioning!! We would like to thank everyone who participated and hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. The one comment we heard over and over from all of you was how lucky we are to have all these different shops and find such a diversity in fabrics. We are fortunate in our area to have so many wonderful choices at our disposal.
For those of you who were unable to complete this shop hop, don’t despair. Another one is coming up in just a couple of months. The Second Annual Quilter’s Quest Shop Hop will be held on Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 4th – 6th. The Quilter’s Quest participating stores are from a more localized area. See the last page of this newsletter for a list of participants. All of us will have extended hours to give all of you a chance to shop till you drop! Information is available here at the shop, and is also online.
We are very excited about many new fabrics that have arrived, and we are expecting even more to get here soon. The Halloween and Christmas fabrics have come in and we are thrilled to have gotten a beautiful Christmas table cloth fabric that has a border on each side and is 60 inches wide. Easy gift idea!
Just a reminder: August’s “Girls Night” will be held on August 22nd because of Labor Day Weekend. Mark your calendars. Everyone is welcome, no registration is required. |

Fabric Care Tips From P & B Textiles…
· If your quilt is dusty, tumble it in a cool dryer for a few minutes and shake it out.
· If you pre-wash fabric, do not use hot water or a hot dryer. Once quilts are made they should only be washed and dried in cold water and a cool dryer (or dried flat).
· If you are making a quilt with light and dark fabrics, pre-wash the darks to remove any potential bleeding. This can be done in cold water. A good test of bleeding is to add a light-colored or white fabric to the dark wash. If bleeding occurs, repeat until the light swatch comes out without any color change.
· Detergents can fade fabrics. It is recommended that you use a gentle detergent to wash quilts.
· If you are making an art quilt or wall hanging, that won’t be washed, it is recommended that you do not pre-wash.
