Fall is the time many of us start to think about the project possibilities for holiday decorations and gifts.  If you are starting to toss ideas around, we can surely help.  We have so many Halloween and Christmas fabrics and patterns we are confident you’ll find just what you’re looking for.  New holiday panels and fabrics have been arriving all summer.  To make things even easier, many of our classes this fall are for projects that will help to get you moving in the right direction.  Many times all it takes to get started is the time to trace, cut, and sew, and press.  Once we start to see some progress, we get even more motivated.  In addition to our fall classes, we continue to have open sewing every Thursday during regular store hours and “Girls Night Out” the last Friday of every month.  (Details for September Girls Night are on page 3.)
Don’t forget the Quilter’s Quest Shop Hop is less than two weeks away.  All pertinent information is on page 4 of the newsletter.  With all the shops in Erie and Niagara counties, this hop is very easy to complete in the given time, and your chances of winning a prize is 1 in 20!!
Just a few hints that might make your shop hop more successful:

  • Map out your trip for each day you will be hopping.
  • Bring along any and all yardage requirements for projects for which you are planning to buy.
  • Bring your swatches with you if you plan on matching or adding fabrics to a “Work in Progress”
  • Make sure you give yourself enough time in each shop to look at all their samples, books, fabrics and patterns.  Every shop is different and it helps you to know what each shop carries.Bring your calendars in case you see a class you might like to take.
  • And last but not least……HAVE FUN!

If you have any questions, stop by, e-mail us, or give us a call.
Don’t forget September also means we are back to our regular hours.  The fall hours are at the top of this page.  We will be closed for Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September, 5th through Monday, September 7th.

Jack in the Windows

Jack in the Windows We could not resist adding this cute pumpkin wall hanging class to our list.  The class will be held on Tuesday, September 29th from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.  This is a simple fusible appliqué project that can be arranged either tall and narrow or short and wide.  With just a few fabrics, and a little imagination you could easily have this adorable project completed before this year’s ghost and goblins come around.

Life’s a Patchwork

Stitch a little bit of lovin’,
Add a lot of tender care;
Sew together with some kindness.
Let the sun shine everywhere.
Choose a pattern for your life’s work,
Add some fun along the way.
Life is like a valued patchwork.
Keep it precious day by day.
