What do you think of when the month of February begins?  Some might think of Valentine’s Day. Others think about the kids being home for a week and how will they keep busy.  Still others think about their long weekend of quilting at Chautauqua.  But here at Sew What?, February holds our favorite day of the year.  We can’t wait til FAT TUESDAY!

Mark your calendars girls, February 24th is FAT TUESDAY!   We be opening early and staying late.   As in the past, we have been cutting and folding fat quarters since the beginning of January.  In addition to regular cottons, this year we are adding batik fat quarters to our sale.  The price for regular cottons will remain at $1.25 this year.  The batiks will be $1.75.  And as always, it’s not Fat Tuesday without a special drawing, refreshments and catching up with your fellow quilters.  We hope to see all of you here.

Don’t forget about classes this month.  We have a cute Bunny Table runner class.  This runner is so cute, you’ll not only want to make one for yourself, but surprise a friend or two for Easter.  “Blueberry Cobbler” is coming up as well.  Just can’t help but think of warm summer months when you think of blueberries!  Make sure you check our website for a full list of classes.

The new fabrics have started coming in.  We have received several gorgeous Orientals, great spring florals and are still waiting for new batiks. Nancy Davis Murty’s new line, called Alpha Buddies, is attracting lots of attention and many other great fabrics are arriving daily. (Ann went little nuts with ordering this year!)

Tip Of The Month

Looking for a surface to cut on?

Try your dryer.  Your rotary mat won’t slide off and it is a great height for most quilters.
