Curvy Rail

Cost $30.00

Wednesday August 20, 2008 - 6:30pm to 9:00pm

A quilt that is fun to sew for all, especially great for beginners. The curves in this quilt are gentle, a good opportunity for you to learn how to sew curves with ease. Get funky making a quilt that is fun to sew, to select fabrics for and to decide how to arrange and cut. The lazy curves in this quilt twine around from block to block, giving it a basket-weave look. Deviating from the traditional Rail Fence, the curves instead create a funky, curvy rail.

SEPTEMBER CLASSES

Paper Pieced Log Cabin

  Cost $30.00

Tuesday September 23, 2008 - 10:00am to 3:00pm

One of my favorite quilts was originally made to be a gift, but was too pretty to give away. I also call this quilt the Garbage Bag Quilt, because it was an experiment in scraps. I had two garbage bags, one light and one dark. I’d reach in and without looking, whatever strip I touched I had to use. It was fun! This is a great way to learn to paper piece too. Easy and fun! (not to mention the best looking quilt I own!) I may join you for this one, because I have 72 blocks already made

On Golden Pond

Cost $30.00

September 30 and October 14, 2008 - 6:30pm to 9:00pm

This quilt is one of my favorites. Adapted from the block “Lady of the Lake”, this quilt is wonderful for showing off some of the beautiful fabrics we don’t always want to cut into small pieces. We will learn (or re-learn) several ways to make accurate half square triangles. Although the sample is a very large quilt, this quilt can be made smaller.

Mary Militello.

We’re the only store in the area that still teaches the basics by hand, and trust me this class will make you a much better machine quilter.
